We have numerous Covid-19 vaccines available from different countries for adults. However, there are no vaccines available to try or to authorize by the authorities for young-age groups between 5 to 11 years old. Today, Fizer’s CEO has officially announced that the data on their Covid-19 Vaccine on 5 to 11 years old trials will be submitted to the FDA within days.
What’s new from Pfizer?
Recently, FDA has approved a special Covid-19 booster shot for adults who are highly infected and has their life under threat. This Covid-19 Booster Shot has been authorized by FDA and is under trial at CDS authority for further approval. We do not have the vaccine even for the 12 to 17 years age group till now in many other countries.
Today’s Update on New Vaccine
Today, Pfizer’s CEO has come up and stated that the Covid-19 vaccine trials data for a young age group between 5 to 11 will be submitted shortly. This means the Covid-19 vaccine for 5-11 years will be available soon at a large scale. 5 to 11 is a key patient group and the backbone of the country.
This statement from Pfizer’s CEO comes as hope as it is very crucial for not just the United States, but for the entire world and its population. Saving young lives from getting infected through a new variant of Coronavirus is crucial and the need of the hour for every other country.
The CEO has said that if the Food and Drug Administration approves their vaccine, then they will be up for producing the same at a larger scale for children. Pfizer is working with a German partner named BioNTech. Both the firms have combined submitted their reports for their booster shot and got instant approval by FDA.
Now, Pfizer and BioNTech are all set to submit new vaccine trial data on a special patient group i.e. 5 to 11 years. The CEO has clearly stated that the formulation for producing the Covid-19 vaccine for a young age is completely different from what they have used for their other vaccines.
The CEO has said that the dose that they have given to the young age group for trial is one-third of what they have given to the public. The study has found that the lower dose of their vaccine for 5 to 11 is safer than the high-dose. Moreover, the study report showcased the effectiveness of their vaccine to young age with lower doses.
Who are eligible for Pfizer’s Vaccine?
If we talk about the children, only 12 and above are returned to attend the classrooms. This means the children who are eligible for vaccines are able for in-person classrooms. Pfizer and BioNTech are the only companies that are aiming to produce effective vaccines for all age groups.
Soon after their special Covid-19 Booster Shot, they have come up with yet another exciting announcement regarding their new Covid-19 Vaccine for a young age group between 5 and 11 years.
If we talk about the current scenario, the US alone is averaging over 2,000 deaths in a day due to Covid 19. This data is quite shocking as after vaccinating the citizens at such a higher scale, the country is still facing challenges to prevent the infection of this deadly virus.
